Wednesday evening's Fussballfreunde will feature two German Cup games played today and Wednesday.
Wednesday's Bayern-Dortmund game will likely be the most significant game in German football for the season, as the winner will face much lesser competition in the semifinal, and possibly, the final. The Bundesliga looks to be decided already, with Bayern Munich having a 17-point cushion atop the table.
Hope you'll join us for the evening! I will begin with Tuesday's game (Offenbach-Wolfsburg) at 6 PM, the main feature of Bayern-Dortmund will get going around 8 PM.

Play these games among other modern classics like Die Siedler von Catan, Auf Achse, Zug um Zug Märklin, Bohnanza, Scrabble, Thurn und Taxis and 6 Nimmt! Linie 1 and ABC DRS 3 deutsch und deutlich, Die Speicherstadt und Filou: die Katze im Sack were also new additions for 2012 (and big hits with my English-speaking friends, I might add!). Whether you play games regularly or not, there is something for everybody!
Play a favourite, or try something new! A great way to socialize!

The Victoria Film Festival will open with a presentation of Margarethe von Trotta's Hannah Arendt, a German production about the life of German American political theorist Hannah Arendt. (Trailer)
The festival runs February 1-10, tickets are on sale as of today.
If you are interested in seeing the second showing on Wednesday, February 6 with other German speakers, you are welcome to join the group I am organizing.
Please let me know if you wish to join us for dinner at the Rathskeller (Quadra at View) at 6:30 PM, or only for the film which begins at 9:15 PM at Empire Theatres downtown (805 Yates).

I will be presenting a games table once again at the ever-growing GottaCon gaming convention at Pearkes Field House (near Silver City & Tillicum Mall) the first weekend in February. GottaCon is a great way to learn about board games, video games and other gaming hobbies. I always enjoy the chance to talk about how board games have helped me improve my German skills and knowledge about the world, to make new friends, and to play. I hope to see you there.

Join us for board games and fun conversation! Gambit 7 and Bezzerwizzer Familien-Edition, both trivia games, have been big hits! Play them among other modern classics like Die Siedler von Catan, Auf Achse, Zug um Zug Märklin, Bohnanza, Scrabble, Thurn und Taxis and 6 Nimmt! New games added recently include Linie 1 and ABC DRS 3 deutsch und deutlich, and new for 2012 is Die Speicherstadt und Filou: die Katze im Sack.
As always, there is German music, TV programming and some age-appropriate beverages to enjoy as well.
Play a favourite, or try something new! A great way to socialize!

"Europas höchster Fußballplatz" - Sport Inside - WDR Fernsehen
Thanks again for coming for games Friday night (we played Die Siedler von Catan-Deutschland Edition, and Bezzerwizzer Familien-Edition), I will be scheduling for November soon.
